CALL ME PETE exits a race where he was beaten by NIRAV, who will be the likely favorite here. I don't think Rosemary gave him a very good start. I look to this horse to improve under Castro and with the race under his belt. Hope we can get 3-1.

The two horses with the best beyers in this race are highly suspect. PHAEDRA is a low level claimer with cheap speed and ONE FOR KATIE just broke her maiden as a 20-1 shot. These two should battle each other early and set the table for MISS SANATA. The wildcard is an improving CRUZAN MIDNIGHT - she just might get first run at the leaders.

I've been on GOOSIE GOOSIE for two of his last three 2nd's. However, today has just gotta be the day. He should enjoy the added distance and the pace will be contested in front of him.

VISION IN FLIGHT looks like the filly to beat. So let's try and beat her - PLUCKY BROAD is running 3rd off the bench. I like her to step up here, love her if it's wet.

There's plenty of speed in this one. Who's the best closer? Probably JUST A TRUE MAN, but the poor sob hasn't been able to get out of the gate at all lately. Going to cross my fingers and hope Ritvo's got the kinks worked out. One thing's for sure - the price should be better.

I can't possibly see ACTCELERATE losing this race unless he get's hit by lightning in the starting gate. The only threat seems to be from the outside.

JAHBLESS broke his maiden at Calder, is 3 for 6 lifetime at the track, and has won off a rest. Thinking the odds will creep north on this one. Worth a flyer.

I expect BALLISTIC MISSILE will go off at even money. Ran well at Churchill, ran well at Gulfstream, and has a bullet here at Calder. But, the thing is, this colt has been in a position to win in 3 of his 4 starts and couldn't get the job done. Do I smell money burning? I'm going with YOU RANG - had trouble in debut, Hatchett takes over and adds Lasix.
